The Municipal Council of West Mani has unanimously approved the installation of security cameras on key roads and public spaces

During the preliminary agenda discussion, council members received an initial briefing outlining the necessary steps and legislative procedures required for implementation.

The measure received full support from municipal councilors, who authorised Mayor Giorgos Chioureas to execute the relevant Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry.

Municipalities of Kalamata and Messina have adopted similar resolutions and signed corresponding Memoranda of Cooperation with the Ministry of Citizen Protection.

These agreements aim to enhance citizen safety by installing security cameras at strategic locations on roadways and public spaces as a preventative measure against criminal activity.
