Walking in the Mani

There are a number of great walks throghout the Mani, all varying in length and difficulty. The terrain varies too, ranging from dirt tracks to rocky goat paths to immaculately constructed kalderimia.

Here are a number of suggested routes, starting in the north and ending up at the end of the peninsula that are taken from the now out of print Inside the Mani “On Foot & By Car” guide. We’ve even included a few videos to give you an idea of the nature of some of the walks.

The condition of certain paths on certain routes vary from year to year, despite the efforts of local path clearing groups. So as part of this community site, it would be great if you could update other walkers if you come across awkward sections. Pleaseleave a comment at the end of the specific walk

As the media regularly reports, there are specific and very real risks to walking in Greece.
