Kalamata Christmas Festivities Programme
It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the programme celebrating Christmas in Kalamata is certainly extensive!
In a statement made yesterday, the mayor declared that “ the brightest time of the year is approaching, with the squares, the streets, and the villages having been decorated and the work continuing. He added that Kalamata has put on its festive attire and promises smiles, warmth, music and very beautiful moments to the whole world, as events will be held by the “Faris” schools, the Philharmonic and other organizations, which are constantly enriching the program.”
He described the central square of Kalamata as a reference point, with this year’s natural Christmas tree exceeding 20 meters. The 23rd of March square will also be a reference point, where a natural tree has also been placed.
Returning to the central square, he added that there will be the clubs’ houses, the Square of Wishes, and the carousel, which will be free for 40 days, while he announced that a train will eventually operate during this time. (Note: The Kalamata council seem obsessed by the idea of having this train…..!)
The beginning, he said, will take place, weather permitting (!), tomorrow , Friday 28th at 8pm, with the lighting of the tree and a concert by Giorgos Tsalikis.
The full programme can be found on the Tharros news website.
