Heading to Athens or back? - Allow more time due to road closure notices

Allow more time for your journey as closures will be in force both ways this week in parts of the Corinth–Tripoli–Kalamata motorway, as well as the Lefktro-Sparta. 

Construction and maintenance is taking place  in the area of Paradisia junctions and Tsakonas.

The interventions will be implemented in two phases and will affect both the direction to Kalamata and the direction to Athens.

The first closure is in the direction TO Kalamata from Athens and will apply until tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12.00 noon.

The closure is from the kilometric position 198.3 (junction Paradisia) to 210.0 (Tsakona junction).

The traffic of all vehicles bound for Kalamata will be diverted to the old Tripoli-Kalamata National Road, where it will be carried out through the side road infrastructure.

The entrance branch of Paradision I/C to Kalamata will remain closed on a throughout the work.


Additionally, closure of the carriageway FROM Athens for works will start tomorrow Wednesday at 14.00 and will be completed on Saturday 13 December at 18.00.

The closure is from kilometric position 210.0 (junction Tsakona) to 198.3 (Paradisia junction).

The traffic of vehicles heading to Athens will also be diverted to the old Tripoli-Kalamata National Road.

The entrance branch of the Tsakona Interchange to Athens will remain closed.

hroughout the works, traffic will be carried out on the basis of temporary information and regulatory signs, as well as other means of road traffic to be placed by the competent services.

The Authorities recommend that drivers pay close attention, reduce speed at the points of the works, to follow the instructions of the signage and provide additional time for their travels.

The traffic arrangements are deemed necessary for the safe and smooth execution of maintenance work, which is expected to improve the the functionality and safety of the motorway.
