A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE “KALAMATA MOUNTAIN RUN”

With the aim of highlighting and promoting the natural and cultural environment of the region, the Kalamata Mountaineering Association is organizing the second mountain running race “Kalamata Mountain Run” on Sunday, September 7, 2025, on Mount Kalathi, at the foot of Mount Taygetos. The “Kalamata Mountain Run” connects the sea with the mountain and Kalamata with Mount Taygetos. The venue is Mount Kalathi (1,340m) located next to Kalamata and which starts from the sea in the west and joins Taygetos in the east. It is a mountain with incredible changes of scenery, unknown to most people, but which causes great surprise and admiration to the unsuspecting visitor.

Traditional settlements, the kingdom of stone structures, forests and alpine meadows, mysterious stone arches, the famous and well-hidden “Kratera”, the unobstructed view of the sea and Taygetos are some of the elements of the “Kalamata Mountain Run” routes.
