Digital Work Card: Implementation starts today
As of today, the mandatory use of the Digital Work Card is extended to workers in energy, financial and administrative and support activities in tourism.
The new measure will immediately cover approximately 1.85 million workers and 280,000 businesses across the country.
The Government’s intention is to combat undeclared work, enhance transparency and protect workers, ensuring that every hour of work is legally recorded and remunerated.
2025 data already show a 76% increase in declared overtime compared to 2024 — over 4,2 million. hours in total.
Understandably, the largest increases are found in the tourism (+681%) and catering (+181%) sectors.
