3.5 month long art exhibition finally comes to an end

The “Land of Mani” art exhibition by renowned artist Stavros Kotsireas finally ended today (October 31st) after opening on July 19th. Inside the Mani featured him and the exhibition in our Autumn issue but had only communicated by phone and email- so we popped down to Old Kardamyli so say hello in person. Stavros, a delightful guy, was more than pleased with the feedback from the show and of course, like all artists, was encouraged by the fact that sales had been made, including the bronze boat “Odyssea” to a sheik from Bahrain! The man in the small ticket office in the plateia in the Old Town calculated that over 8,000 people had visited the show during this period.

And if you haven’t read the article, a very personal side story is that Stavros’s grandfather’s brothers used to live in the now beautifully restored building that hosted the exhibition.

How will it get used next used next year one wonders…?
