The Mani Community Choir

The Mani Community Choir is a Natural Voice choir which is all about the joy of singing! It has been meeting on Tuesday afternoons since January this year. We had our first performance on 21 June at the Theo Manis Taverna for an enthusiastic audience of family and friends. At the event we presented a 1,000 Euro donation to GAIA – money collected from choir members and friends in support of this marvellous and essential local organisation.

Choir members are Dutch, Greek, French, German, Russian and British but we are all Mani people and new members are always welcome. We sing songs from all over the world and we believe everyone can sing (including those who think they can’t).

The choir’s next outing is at the Kazantzakis Festival on Sunday 27 September. They hope lots of people will join them in a BIG SING of the beautiful song Sto Perigiali to Krifo by George Seferis and Mikalis Theodorakis on Kalogria beach at 11am. There will be chances to learn the song in advance at rehearsals on 14 July, 18 August, 8 and 15 September (all at 14.30 at the Neochori Cultural Centre).
