"Tallest Christmas tree in Greece" for Kalamata Plateia

Nothing says Christmas is coming like the felling of the “lucky” tree that will be lit on November 28 to adorn central Kalamata.

Using a truck and a crane under the supervision of Deputy Mayor Kostas Papadakis of the Municipal Police, the team carefully felled the tree to protect its branches before loading it onto a truck bound for Kalamata. This impressive 23-meter fir tree will be set up in Kalamata’s central square and is anticipated to become the tallest Christmas tree in Greece.

The tree was approved for felling by the Forestry Department. It is scheduled to be installed and decorated starting tomorrow, Sunday, and will remain as a festive centerpiece throughout the holiday season until mid-January, bringing Christmas cheer to the heart of Kalamata.

The tree was sourced from the area between Durrës and Neochori Taygetos.
