Have you (as a non-EU visitor or resident) received free or incorrectly billed healthcare services in Greece?
A Kathimerini report suggests there are many reasons why this can and does happen at large scale, ranging from unwillingness of healthcare staff to engage with insurance systems, to genuine Greek benevolence [filoxenia].
Overall this suggests a significant issue, amounting to large costs hidden from scrutiny by the state.
